Q + A

THE HAPPY COUPLE

This is a gender neutral wedding, so please refrain from using the words bride and groom. The happy couple, the newly weds, or just our names will work.

The Ceremony

Is it okay if we show up in costume?

We've left plenty of time for a costume change before the reception, but if you love your look, there's no dress code. Just make sure whatever you're wearing will be comfortable for a walk through the park to the pavilion (along paved paths) and temperature-appropriate for whatever weather Wisconsin decides to send us.

What if it's raining / snowing / hailing toads on the big day?

The ceremony will take place in the pavilion, rain or shine.

(In case of toads, we have bigger problems).

If the weather becomes a factor, the sides of the pavilion can be lowered for added shelter.

That said, October in Wisconsin is always a guessing game in terms of temperature. Feel free to bring a blanket if it looks like we're in for a cool day, and dress comfortably!

We'll have seasonably appropriate refreshments the day of to help you warm up (or cool off, if we get one last hot spell.)

Can we bring our dog / cat / feral gopher/ etc. to the park?

Our venue doesn't allow animals in the pavilion, so we ask that you leave all critters at home.

The Reception

What's the party dress code?

Costumes or goth regalia highly encouraged! (But not required.)

Please keep your outfit PG13 and nothing too scary. (There will be at least a few kids present.) We also ask that you be mindful of things like body paint, GLITTER, or stage blood that might rub off on others or our venue. Other than that, we look forward to seeing what you come up with!

What should we expect apart from food and dancing?

After dinner, the dance floor will open up and so will our photo booth. There's no limit to the number of photos for the three hours it's available, so have fun! You'll receive a copy of your photos to take home, and have the chance to put the other copy in our photo guest book along with any messages or doodles you may wish to add.

Speaking of messages, please put a note in our time capsule. We'll open it on our first year anniversary, so jot down a note, a memory from the wedding, or your advice to read in a year's time.

Also, on the way out the door, please take a tea-light holder from the tables as a little memento- and our thanks for being part of our big day. The large lanterns are spoken for, but there will be pumpkins, ghosts, spooky houses, and bats in need of a good home. We hope they'll bring back happy memories every Halloween.
